Bahama Road Veterinary Hospital

Bahama Road Veterinary Hospital BRVH is proud to serve the Bahama community & beyond with compassionate, high-quality veterinary care. Your pet is family, & they’re treated like it💚

For all seasons of life, our dedicated team is here to support your pet’s health every step of the way. Bahama Road Veterinary Hospital had its beginnings in an old milk house located on Quail Roost Farms in 1983. After several expansions and remodelings we decided that to continue to provide the highest quality of veterinary care possible we would need to design and build a new hospital. With the

majority of our clients residing in Durham, Person or Orange Counties, it was necessary to locate a new hospital where it would be convenient for our clients. In the fall of 2005 a 6-acre parcel was purchased at the corner of 501 N. and Bahama Road. This tract of land had been used previously for a swine operation and personal residence. After 18 months of negotiations, the site was approved for the construction of a new veterinary hospital. During this delay, numerous veterinary facilities were examined for ideas on how to best serve our clients and care of their pets. We wanted to build a facility where “Pets come first”. Construction of our new hospital began in spring of 2007 and we opened our doors to serve the public in November 2007. Our hospital was designed to provide the highest standard of care for our patients while ensuring our clients feel comfortable in their visits.

Please join us in welcoming Ruby Pearl to the BRVH gang! ❤️🐾

This super sweet gal stole hearts the moment she walked through our doors—especially Kayla’s, who was completely smitten (and we totally get it 😍). We’re so excited to be part of Ruby Pearl’s care and can’t wait to watch her grow with us!

Welcome to the family, Ruby Pearl! 🐶✨

Happy National Pet Day from all of us at Bahama Road Veterinary Hospital! 🐾💙

Today we’re celebrating the pets who make our lives brighter, our days happier, and our hearts fuller. Whether they bark, purr, chirp, or hop—our lives just wouldn’t be the same without them!

It’s also the perfect day to give a little extra love (and maybe an extra treat 😉) and to remember the importance of routine veterinary care to keep your furry family members happy and healthy for years to come.

Thinking about adding a new pet to your family? National Pet Day is a great reminder to consider adoption and give a deserving animal a forever home. 🏡🐶🐱

Drop a photo of your pet in the comments—we’d LOVE to celebrate them with you! 📸👇

A sneak peek at our new pasture space and freshly painted parking lot at Bahama Veterinary Medical Center! 🐾 One of our most asked questions: “Will we be seeing large animals?” It is not in our current plans to be a large animal vet and we will stick with our canine and feline friends! However some four-legged landscapers will be helping keep our grass in check. Can you guess which large animals will be calling these pastures home? Drop your guesses in the comments! 🐄🐴🐑🐐🌿

This handsome black lab, Charlie, made himself right at home during his recent visit with Dr. Jones—and he’s pictured here soaking up some love from Stacey 🐾💙

He reminded us all why we love what we do. Thanks for coming to see us, Charlie—we can’t wait for your next visit!

🌟 April Employee Spotlight 🌟

Please join us in celebrating our Business Manager, Kim! 🎉
Kim has been part of Team BRVH for almost 27 years, and her impact reaches far beyond her title. Her favorite part of her job is the connections she’s built with both our team and our clients—many of whom have turned into lifelong friends over the years.

Kim also finds great joy in taking care of everything behind the scenes, from payroll and license renewals to inspections, benefits, paying the bills, and quite literally keeping the lights on. On top of it all, Kim is our in-house mom and therapist, supporting our team in ways that go above and beyond every single day.

We are incredibly grateful for all that Kim does for Bahama Road Veterinary Hospital. Help us celebrate her in the comments! 💚👏

Denali had the best time visiting us! 🐾

This beautiful girl stopped by and quickly made a new best friend in our Veterinary Assistant, Pam. From tail wags to puppy snuggles, it’s safe to say Denali loved every minute of her visit.

Positive experiences like this are so important for growing puppies as they learn that the vet can be a fun and friendly place. We can’t wait to watch this smart, sweet girl grow up! 💙

🐾💚 National Puppy Day at Bahama Road Vet! 💚🐾

Meet Hazel and Angus—two adorable bundles of wrinkles who stopped by for their puppy exams! From showing off their curious little personalities to catching some well-earned ZZZs afterward (because being cute is exhausting), they made our day extra special. 💤✨

National Puppy Day is a time to celebrate the joy puppies bring into our lives while also highlighting the importance of adoption. This day was created to encourage families to consider adopting puppies from shelters and rescues and to help give deserving pets a second chance at a loving home.

Adopting a puppy not only changes their life—it changes yours. With proper veterinary care, training, and socialization, adopted puppies can grow into happy, healthy companions. Early wellness visits help set the foundation for a lifetime of good health and strong bonds.

If you’ve added a new puppy to your family, our team is always happy to provide plenty of puppy snuggles along with the care they need to get off to a healthy start 🐾💛

Say hello to Sadie! 🐾

This adorable girl stopped by for her very first puppy visit with Dr. Ellsaesser, and she absolutely nailed it. From her bright smile to those happy ears, Sadie was the definition of a brave (and very photogenic) patient.

First puppy visits are an important step in making sure your new family member gets off to a healthy start. They help us check growth and development, discuss vaccines, answer new-puppy questions, and make the vet a positive experience from the very beginning.

We’re so happy to welcome Sadie to the BRVH family! 💙
