Buddha's Enlightenment:
Join Mark Lancaster for the last of these informal Sunday morning programs of 2018. These sits feature four 30-minute periods of meditation, separated by walking meditation, a short dharma talk, a Buddhist service and will end with a half an hour closing circle and discussion. All are welcome; no prior meditation experience is required.
December is the month that the Buddhist world celebrates the enlightenment of Shakyamuni Buddha. Buddha means enlightenment, or waking up. We will sit together on Sunday December 16th to honor this human being who woke up and lived his life expressing Wisdom and Compassion with his body, speech and mind.
After five periods of meditation in the Zen tradition, we will have a short enlightenment ceremony and then end the morning program with a half hour closing circle with tea and cookies. Mark will offer Dharma words of encouragement during the morning.
