Today the organization had the ability to deliver Thanksgiving baskets of food to deserving Autism Families who were nominated from our partners in the school districts, KRC, and Dignity Health Hospital. From the far East of town to McFarland, Delano, Shafter and Wasco our "Team Turkey" made some magic happen this morning. These are just a few of those happy smiles from today's deliveries. πŸ¦ƒπŸ₯§β€οΈπŸ HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Today the organization received a note from one of the classrooms we helped fund through Donors Choose.

Dear Kern Autism Network, Inc.,

Your generous support has made an immediate and meaningful difference in my special education classroom. Many of the items you funded have already arrived, and my students are actively using them in ways that directly support their learning and emotional regulation.

The fidgets, stress toys, and coloring books have quickly become essential tools in our daily routine. When students are having a difficult day or experiencing big emotions, they now have healthy coping options they can turn to. These tools help them refocus, calm down, and re-engage with learning when they're ready. The number lines have also made a big impact on our math instruction. Several students who struggle with number sense are now using them to better understand place value, sequencing, and simple operations.

Although a few items are still on their way, the bean bag chair has already become the star of the classroom. Students are incredibly excited about it, and it has helped us begin building a more complete calming corner where they can take breaks, regulate their emotions, and return to class feeling more grounded.

One of the most heartwarming parts of this experience has been seeing how proud my students are. This group of 5th–8th graders thinks it's "really cool" that our classroom was funded, especially with materials that genuinely help them succeed and feel supported. Your kindness has shown them that their needs matter and that people in the community care about their growth.

Thank you for making such a real, positive impact on our classroom.

With gratitude,
Mrs. Wilson
