Lifestyle-Related Risk Factors for Back Pain.
A recent literature review identified the following lifestyle factors linked to an elevated risk for back pain: overweight/obesity, insomnia, smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, and physical inactivity. For patients under treatment for back pain, addressing these lifestyle factors may be necessary to both reduce present low back pain and disability and lower the risk of recurrence.
