Mental illness and disorders affect thousands of people and can disrupt families, careers, and even one’s physical well being. Without professional help the problem will likely not resolve itself. If you or a loved one is concerned about the presence of a mental health issue, contact the Psychiatric Wellness Center. Our physicians and staff are exceptionally well trained and experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of mental and behavioral disorders and disease. We understand what our patients are going through and we can help. We now offer Trans-cranial Magnetic Stimulation Therapy (TMS), the latest technology in the treatment of medication resistant mental depression. NeuroStar TMS Therapy is a new treatment approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for patients suffering from depression who have not achieved satisfactory improvement from prior antidepressant treatment. This treatment can be performed in a psychiatrist's office, under their supervision, using a medical device called the NeuroStar TMS Therapy system. This non-invasive innovative therapy alleviates the undesirable side effects such as weight gain, sexual dysfunction and gastric problems that often result from anti-depressant medications. Truxtun Psychiatric Medical Group Inc. is Kern County's only TMS Center. Please visit the following link for additional information: https://neurostar.com/neurostar-tms-depression-treatment/
