Today, we celebrate the impact that First Responders make in their community. Yesterday, we saw first hand what they do. A response from Parkway and Spruce Pine first responders, Mitchell County Sheriffs Office, Mitchell Medics and Yancey EMS, Mitchell County 911, a life was saved. Early Defib from an AED (actually, two of them brought to scene from MCSO and Parkway/Spruce Pine) was utilized. Data shows us that Early Defibrillation and High Quality CPR saves lives. Thank you to ALL who responded.

Furthermore, with all of MM trucks tied up on calls - our neighbors, Yancey EMS, responded quickly and transported the patient.

Crew members Autumn, Lacy, Jimmy and Peyton worked the Alien festival today.

As you can see, hands only CPR was taught at our booth. The crew even had some fun with an alien. I don't think it worked out for the Alien.

On a more serious note, we are very glad everyone had a good time and there were no serious injuries.

Congrats to our providers of the year. EMT of the year is Thiago, AEMT is Hannah, Paramedic of the year is JO and Officer of the Year is Jared. These were voted on by their peers and all of these folks exemplify the wonderful providers that we have. Thanks to you all!
