Hope you find the time to get outside and enjoy the weather this gorgeous fall weekend!

The Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku or forest bathing 🌲 literally means taking in the forest atmosphere and showering in the greenery at a slow leisurely pace. Immersing oneself in an environment where all your senses are engaged promotes physiological and psychological health and healing.

Forest bathing offers an impressive array of health benefits, chief among them the ability to reduce stress. As little as 20 min of “taking in the forest atmosphere” has been shown to significantly lower levels of cortisol in the bloodstream. Cortisol is the primary hormone your body produces when you’re under stress.

2020’s second-closest—so second-biggest—full moon is coming. As a bonus this month, those that get up early on Monday, March 9, 2020 to see the “Super Worm Moon” as it sinks in the west can turn 180º to see Jupiter, Mars, Saturn and even the tiny planet Mercury in the east.

"Using MRI scans, Villemure detected more gray matter—brain cells—in certain brain areas in people who regularly practiced yoga, as compared with control subjects.

'We found that with more hours of practice per week, certain areas were more enlarged,' Villemure says, a finding that hints that yoga was a contributing factor to the brain gains."
