Sourdough on the bench.
Herbs hanging in the kitchen.
Grand babies on her hip.
Bread in the oven.
Seeds in the soil.
Remedies steeping on the stove.
Emma isn’t just “one thing.”
She’s a wife.
She’s a mum of 7.
She’s a business owner.
She’s a home cook, gardener, and teacher.
She’s a student of natural wellness who believes the simple things still work.

One of my favorite kitchen tricks…
Set the pressure cooker to delayed start and wake up to perfectly cooked lentils.
No babysitting the pot.
I load it up before bed and by morning we’ve got protein ready for soups, bowls, or salads.
Simple systems like this make it so much easier to eat nourishing food even on busy days.
Kitchen tools that work while you sleep might be the real secret.

Slippery elm has been used for generations because of its soothing, protective qualities for the body.
People commonly use it to support:
• Digestive irritation
• Acid reflux or heartburn
• Sore throat relief
• Coughs and respiratory irritation
• Gut lining support
• Occasional constipation or diarrhea
• Bladder and urinary irritation
When mixed with water it forms a soothing gel that coats and calms irritated tissues — which is why it has been a staple remedy in many natural medicine cabinets.
Simple, gentle, and time-tested.
Have you ever used slippery elm?

Planning your garden this year?
One of my favorite places to get ideas is the Natural Remedies Encyclopedia.
Flip through the medicinal plants and their uses and you may be surprised by what you discover. Many of the plants listed are things you can easily grow right in your own garden.
Even something as simple as pumpkin seeds has traditional uses you might not expect.
Sometimes the garden isn’t just about food — it’s about building your home apothecary too.
Have you ever planned your garden with medicinal uses in mind?

One of Emma’s favorite sourdough tricks?

English muffins freeze beautifully.

Make a big batch, let them cool, slice them, and pop them in the freezer. When you need breakfast, just toast them straight from frozen.

Real food… ready in minutes.

It’s one of the easiest ways to keep homemade food convenient for busy families.

A little behind-the-scenes story for this one.
Peace Please is actually made by Emma’s brother using a carefully prepared herbal formula.
This topical blend is designed to help soothe and comfort sensitive areas, and many people like using it for hemorrhoid discomfort.
It’s one of those simple, practical herbal products that fits right into Emma's style of natural remedies... supporting the body while also addressing lifestyle habits that contribute to the issue in the first place.

Ever heard of hormone disruptors?

These are chemicals found in everyday products that can interfere with how the body’s hormones communicate.

Hormones act like messengers in the body, they help regulate things like metabolism, sleep, mood, and reproductive health. When outside chemicals mimic or block those signals, it can throw that communication off.

That’s why Emma often encourages simple lifestyle swaps… cleaner food, fewer plastics, and more whole ingredients in the kitchen.

Small changes over time can make a big difference.

If you’re curious about natural wellness education and lifestyle habits that support hormone balance, there are plenty of resources at BarbaraOneill.com.

White willow bark has been used traditionally as a plant-based support for occasional aches and discomfort. It contains a natural compound called salicin, which the body converts into a form similar to salicylic acid.

Many people turn to herbs like white willow bark when they’re looking for gentle, traditional plant options for pain and fevers.

Emma loves learning from resources like the Natural Remedies Encyclopedia, where herbs like white willow bark are explained in simple, practical ways.

Always do your own research and learn how herbs have been traditionally used before adding something new to your routine.

Synthetic fragrance is one of the most common hidden hormone disruptors in everyday products.

From soaps to lotions to cleaning products, the word “fragrance” can represent dozens of undisclosed chemicals that may interfere with the body’s natural hormone balance.

One simple shift? Choose products made with pure ingredients and natural scents.
Your skin absorbs what you put on it … choose wisely.
