📢 Community Alert: Food Security at Risk in Syracuse
This week, a lifeline for many of our neighbors hangs in the balance — and we need your help.
At the Samaritan Center (215 N. State St., Syracuse) we see daily what it means when people don’t know where their next meal is coming from. The Center has always provided hot meals 365 days a year, no questions asked.
Here’s where it gets urgent:
• Around 30% of Syracuse residents rely on Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to purchase groceries each month.
• With SNAP benefits uncertain, many guests at the Samaritan Center face the prospect of losing both food and dignity.
• For us, this isn’t a statistic — it’s the reality that we serve: men, women and children who come hungry, seeking a safe place and a nutritious meal.
