Smart food choices = Healthy smiles
Plaza Orthodontics team believes great smiles start with what’s on your plate! The foods you choose every day play a big role in keeping teeth strong and braces or aligners on track.
Crunchy fruits & veggies like apples (cut into slices) and carrots
Dairy products like cheese and yogurt for strong enamel
Water to rinse away food particles and protect your smile
Foods to avoid with braces or aligners:
• Sticky candies (caramel, taffy, gummies)
• Hard foods (nuts, ice, hard pretzels)
• Popcorn (kernels can damage wires)
• Hard or thick pizza crust
• Sugary & carbonated drinks
• Chewing gum
Aligner tip: Remove trays before eating or drinking anything except water, and brush before putting them back in to keep them clear and clean!
