One of my patients had an eye-opening experience this week.

She came in with right-sided neck pain, shoulder tightness, and sciatic pain down her leg. Instead of working directly on those areas, I treated the right side of her abdomen. That release created noticeable changes deep in her shoulder blade and neck.

Pain isnโ€™t always coming from where you feel it. The body works as a connected system.

If youโ€™ve been treating the painful spot without lasting results, a whole-body assessment may help.

Thereโ€™s something powerful about seeing someone experience change in real time.

At our recent educational workshop, attendees explored new options for addressing nerve-related symptoms such as numbness, tingling, and weakness.

What I observed were quiet moments of surprise and renewed hope.

The next workshop is March 7 in Baltimore.

Do you know someone who struggles with numbness, tingling, or weakness in their hands or feet?

Sometimes the best gift you can give is information. Our next educational workshop is March 7, 2026.

Forward this post or tag someone who may benefit.

If youโ€™ve been through breast cancer treatment and still notice tightness, pain, or heaviness in your chest, shoulder, or arm, even years later, youโ€™re not alone. I hear this often from people who wonder if this is just something they have to live with.

Procedures like lumpectomy, mastectomy, reconstruction, or lymph node surgery can leave lasting changes in the body. Those changes can affect posture, mobility, and how you move through daily life. Conservative, hands-on physical therapy can help address these patterns and support more comfortable movement again.

My goal is to help you feel more at ease in your body and confident in what it can do.

As the week comes to a close, this is your reminder to choose movement that supports healing, not pain.

At deBorja Physical Therapy and Myofascial Release, we believe movement should help your body feel safer, freer, and more supported. Healing is not about pushing through discomfort. It is about listening, restoring balance, and allowing your body the time and care it needs to recover properly.

Whether you are managing chronic pain, recovering from an injury, or simply trying to move better day to day, small intentional choices make a real difference. Let this Friday be a reset for your body and a step toward long-term relief.

One of the questions I hear all the time is:
โ€œ๐——๐—ผ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐˜„๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ฒ ๐—บ๐˜† ๐—ซ-๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜† ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐— ๐—ฅ๐—œ?โ€

Youโ€™re always welcome to bring them in. They can be helpful. But the truth is, they rarely change how I approach helping someone feel better and move better.

I have worked with many people who have findings on imaging like degenerative changes or partial tears, yet they are able to improve significantly. Most of us are walking around with changes showing up on scans. The bigger question is whether those findings are actually what is causing your pain or limited mobility.

What matters most to me is understanding the whole picture. How your body moves. How you are holding yourself. What areas are restricted from head to toe. That is often where the answers are.

Before pursuing something invasive or relying on medication alone, it is worth asking whether the root of the problem is truly being addressed.

If you have questions or are exploring your options, feel free to reach out.

๐—ฌ๐—ฎ๐˜†, ๐˜„๐—ฒ ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ฑ ๐—ถ๐˜.

This past weekend we hosted my first in-person local workshop at deBorja Physical Therapy in Hampden, and honestly, I am still feeling so grateful.

Despite one of the coldest snow and ice storms we have had in years, we made it happen. There were definitely moments when I wondered if anyone would even be able to get out safely, even with all the sidewalk clearing and salting. But people showed up, conversations happened, and some really meaningful new experiences were shared.

I am so thankful for everyone who attended and supported this workshop. It meant more than you know.

Huge thank you to Jeremiah Jorgensen for sharing your expertise, and to Angela Street, Sarah Eileen, and Lilia de Borja for all your help and support behind the scenes. I could not have done this without you.

Feeling proud, grateful, and already thinking about what might come next.
