Children’s Mental Health Week 💚

It can be difficult to know how to start a conversation with your child about their mental and emotional health. Here are 4 helpful tips to navigate this topic with them.

Tip 1: Figure Out Your Own Feelings on the Topic
Tip 2: Equip Yourself with Resources
Tip 3: Point Out What You’ve Noticed
Tip 4: Normalize that It’s Okay to Not Be Okay

Let us know if you try any of these tips. Our Graduate Intern, Jessica Smith, is a certified instructor in Youth Mental Health First Aid and teaches classes occasionally. If you’d like to learn more, email her at jsmith@buisefoundation.org.

This Black History Month, The BUISE Foundation honors the legacy of strength, advocacy, and healing within the Black community. 🖤

We recognize the voices that were silenced, the barriers that were broken, and the paths that were paved so we can continue this healing work today. Our mission remains rooted in creating safe spaces for Black girls and women to heal, be heard, and thrive.

Black history is not only about where we’ve been, it’s about how we care for ourselves and each other moving forward. Healing is part of our history, too. 💪🏽

Three reasons to join group supervision with Tunisia Buise, LCSW-C,LICSW

1. Real-world leadership from someone who’s in the field‼️I don’t supervise from theory alone. As a practice owner, clinician, and community leader, I bring current, real-life clinical and ethical situations into supervision, so you’re learning what actually shows up in the room and in practice, not just what’s in the textbook.

2. A supportive space that challenges and nurtures‼️
My supervision style is affirming, honest, and growth-oriented. You’ll get a space where you feel safe to ask questions, process cases, and show up as your full self, while also being thoughtfully challenged to sharpen your clinical skills and confidence.

3. Supervision through a culturally responsive, equity-centered lens‼️
As a Black woman and Founder of The BUISE Foundation, I intentionally center culture, identity, and systemic factors in clinical work. We don’t ignore the realities our clients, or us, bring into the room. This helps you practice ethically, authentically, and with deeper impact.
