This February, we proudly celebrate Black History Month — a time to honor the legacy, leadership, and contributions of Black individuals who have shaped healthcare, strengthened communities, and inspired progress.

Today, we’re especially excited to spotlight one of our own: Olusegun “Segun” Seweje, last month Segun was promoted to Clinic Director at our MLK clinic! 🎉

Segun’s journey is one rooted in resilience, family, and a deep commitment to healing. Originally from Nigeria and raised in Howard County, Maryland, he grew up surrounded by a large family of healthcare providers who sparked his early interest in the field. His passion for physical therapy grew through years of playing sports — basketball, soccer, lacrosse, track, and wrestling — where he witnessed firsthand the power of rehabilitation and the incredible capabilities of the human body.

Although he avoided major injuries himself, watching teammates navigate recovery inspired him to dedicate his career to helping others regain strength, mobility, and confidence. Today, Segun brings that same passion, empathy, and drive to Innovative Healthcare Centers, where he leads with purpose and a patient‑first mindset. 🎉
