During Black History Month, we honor Dr. Carter G. Woodson, known as the “Father of Black History.”
In 1926, Dr. Woodson created what was then called Negro History Week, which later became Black History Month. He believed that understanding history builds confidence, identity, and opportunity for future generations.
His work reminds us that education is powerful. Representation matters. And when people see themselves reflected in history, it strengthens their sense of belonging.
At Brighter, Stronger Foundation, we believe knowledge builds confidence and confidence builds brighter futures.
This week, we celebrate the legacy of those who made space for stories to be told.
