Let’s give a huge CPFN shout-out to today’s , Taylor Lynn! Diagnosed with right hemiplegia before her first birthday, this incredible young lady is now nearly 15. From the beginning, she has shown incredible strength, determination, and heart— never backing down from a challenge. She loves music and dance and proudly serves as a cheerleader at her high school. She was a member of the National Junior Honor Society in middle school and is now taking college courses while still in high school! Taylor’s dream is to become a pediatrician one day and help children like herself. She is a fierce fighter with a spirit that refuses to quit.

Also known as dyskinetic hemiplegic cerebral palsy, athetoid hemiplegic cerebral palsy is a type of movement disorder that affects only one side of the body. Resulting from damage to the developing brain, this condition causes involuntary movements such as trembling, twisting, and grimacing, making it difficult for a patient to live a normal life.

Everyone, meet today’s , Aviana! Avi is a sweet, loving 5-year-old with a smile that can light up the sky. Born late pre-term, she experienced a birth injury that led to spastic left hemiplegic cerebral palsy, diagnosed shortly after her third birthday. Avi loves teaching others about the “special” side of her body and proudly shows off her AFO. She brings joy to everyone she meets, and her resilience and acceptance of her disability shine with a grace beyond her years.
