Teen Challenge of Baltimore is reaching out to the local community in search of a private practice dentist or clinic who may be empathetic to the mission of our program. We are committed to restoring the lives of individuals recovering from addiction, but many of our residents have suffered serious dental health issues as a consequence of their past lifestyle.
We are praying for a partnership with a dentist who might be willing to provide:
-Emergency services (e.g., pain and infection relief).
-Other reasonable dental procedures, with a spirit of generosity.
-Potential Dentures for Graduates (New Life, New Smile)
We are seeking solutions that utilize existing resources where possible. For residents under 21, Medicaid can often assist with costs. However, for those over 21, even basic pain management for an infected tooth can cost hundreds to thousands of dollars, making necessary treatment prohibitively expensive, let alone cosmetic fixes.
Unfortunately, tooth pain has been a documented cause of residents leaving the program. While we are aware of dental colleges and community clinics, their lengthy waiting lists (often months) prevent us from addressing these urgent needs in a timely manner.
If you know of a compassionate private practice in or close to the Baltimore area who might be willing to partner with us, perhaps through discounted or donated services, we would be deeply grateful for you tag them, share this post with them, or send us a message.
Thank you so much for your help with this critical need.
