If you're a Black man or woman seeking mental health support, especially related to your identity as a Black person or your gender, there's a resource that may help. Consider finding an EMDR therapist who can help you process everything that's happening in the world today. EMDR therapy has been found to be effective in treating trauma, anxiety, and depression.

Check out my article from EMDRIA about utilizing EMDR therapy in Black communities:

Congratulations to the Healing City Baltimore team and the Baltimore City Trauma Informed Care Task Force for the fantastic work they’ve been doing creating non-traditional healing spaces for members of our community and setting the standard for what community care should look like. Congratulations on winning the Robert B Johnson award!
Whether it’s in barbershops, libraries, or our neighborhood parks, peer to peer trauma care can happen. So humbled to be a part of this groundbreaking initiative.

Call for Participants
Hi colleagues, I am a doctoral candidate at USC and I am conducting a study. Are you a mental health practitioner with experience assessing and treating individuals for anxiety, depression, trauma, and other symptoms due to identity-related stressors (i.e., experiencing racism, homophobia, ableism, etc.)? If so, I’m inviting you to participate in a study to understand your experience working with clients with these issues.
Gaining a better understanding of this topic will help to improve practitioner confidence in addressing these stressors, leading to better therapeutic outcomes for clients.
If you’re interested in participating in my study, click the link in the comment section and complete the survey. If you are selected to participate, schedule, and complete an interview or participate in a focus group, you will receive a $100 Amazon gift card.
Only a few spots are available, and the survey will close in a few weeks, so let me know your interest by completing the survey today! Watch the video below for more information on my study.
I look forward to learning more about your experiences and working with you on this important research topic.
Thank you!
