Martha's Place

Martha's Place Martha’s Place is a long-term phase recovery program for women overcoming drug addiction and homelessness.

Long-term SRO (Single Room Occupancy) housing: Women that complete a six-month transitional program are eligible to apply for residency at one the Martha's Place long-term SRO homes. Each of the four SRO homes offer individual bedrooms and shared living rooms, dining rooms, bathrooms, laundry facilities, and outdoor gardens. The SRO homes are unstaffed recovery homes where residents can apply the

skills learned from the six-month transitional program in an independent environment. Supportive services such as addictions co
unseling, money management, remain available to residents on request.

The brothers of Beta Alpha Lambda joined us for a special Wellness Wednesday. They treated our residents to a delicious catered lunch featuring curry chicken, cabbage, and rice & peas, creating a vibrant space for connection and community. Beyond the shared meal, the brothers extended their kindness through a generous donation of personal hygiene supplies, providing essential support to the women of Martha’s Place. Their visit was a meaningful reminder of the power of service and partnership in uplifting our community.

This February we welcomed three new residents to Martha’s Place. Today we’re honored to spotlight Tena.

Now nine months sober, Tena calls Martha’s Place a stepping stone toward independent living. She expressed that other programs rushed her to move on before she felt emotionally secure. “At Martha’s Place, I can breathe,” she shared. “I don’t feel pressured to leave before I’m fully prepared.”

A testament to the strength of this community, Tena was encouraged to apply for Martha’s Place by a former resident. She says she feels supported now, and grateful for the time and space to build a strong foundation.

A creative at heart, Tena loves sewing and takes small commissions. We’re proud to walk alongside Tena on her healing journey, one stitch and day at a time.
