It supports Dr. Schon and his team of collaborative researchers, clinicians, residents, fellows, biomedical engineers and bioscience experts in their work to improve patient care and outcomes through research, education and discovery. Although much of the work occurs in the Orthobiologic Laboratory at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital, there are numerous labs and educational venues that contribute to the ultimate mission. The Innovation Fund is a philanthropic resource for the Laboratory's academic and non-commercial activities. In addition it supports projects, new ideas, techniques, discoveries, educational opportunities and advancements in orthopaedics.
