Helping Up Mission

Helping Up Mission Restoring hope. Rebuilding lives. For nearly 140 years… and counting! We are a faith based, privately funded, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

We provide programs and services to men and women suffering from homelessness and addiction. Our long-term, residential Spiritual Recovery Program is our flagship. Since 1995, we have helped hundreds of men break the cycle of addiction, poverty, and homelessness. The average homeless man or woman we serve has survived two decades of substance abuse and years on the streets. They come to us addicted, destitute, and dysfunctional — with no realistic capacity to recover on their own. For a man or woman in that condition, a “quick fix” doesn’t exist. Healing requires a holistic approach. By God’s grace, lives are transformed as men and women who have suffered for years — or in many cases, decades — on the streets rise up and regain their purpose, hope, and independence. As they do, all Baltimore is blessed along with them; our community experiences healing.

Happy Friday, Family!
Today we celebrate Deborah from the Center for Women & Children as she completes our Spiritual Recovery Program!
Deborah has demonstrated resilience, faith, and a deep determination to rise above her past. Her journey reminds us that transformation happens little by little—one decision, one moment, and one renewed step forward.
“For I know the plans I have for you… plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11
Let’s congratulate Deborah as she steps boldly into the next chapter of her life, carrying strength, hope, and the confidence that she is never walking alone.
Hope restored. Lives rebuilt.

We were honored to welcome Lamar Jackson, Dre’Mont Jones, Malik Hamm, Cornelius Johnson, Kyle Van Noy, Tyler Linderbaum and Ray Rice. Thank you for your continued generosity and commitment to our community.

We are grateful for our partners Mercy Medical Center, Baltimore, MD. Many of our clients have never had a professional foot check before this annual event. By simply saying “yes” they begin to understand the full benefit of the program. Thank you, Mercy!
