As part of the events surrounding the CIAA basketball tournament this week, our own Lisa James, Vice President of Behavioral Health and Social Work, will take part in the CIAA Health and Wellness Summit!

Lisa will be a top panelist for "The Full Court Press on Wellness: Mental, Physical & Social Health in Action" alongside peers from CareFirst BlueCross Blue Shield, the University of Maryland Medical System, and Park Heights Renaissance.

The summit is happening this Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Rita Rossi Colwell Center, 701 E. Pratt Street in Baltimore. Registration to attend is free, at https://baltimore.org/event/ciaa-health-wellness-summit. Way to go, Lisa!

Did you know that Chase Brexton offers group prenatal care at some of our locations? Group prenatal care includes health care, education and social support, all in the same visit! 🍼

During sessions, you may take your own vital signs, see your doctor, midwife or nurse practitioner, support others in the group, and learn about pregnancy, birth, postpartum and infant care.

Today, it includes three full pantries, special dietary foods for diabetic patients, a distribution van, and partnerships with the Maryland Food Bank and local farms. And we’re just getting started.

If you missed your chance to see us at the BMore Healthy Expo earlier this month to receive life-saving Narcan training and a free Narcan kit, it's not too late!

Chase Brexton was recently certified as an Overdose Response Program by the Maryland Department of Health. As a certified program, we're able to provide training both for staff and the community on how to recognize and respond to an individual experiencing an opioid overdose, as well as distribute the lifesaving medication naloxone (Narcan) to use in the event of an opioid overdose.

We had so much fun at the BMore Healthy Expo! Our POWER Project, Sexual Health Clinic, Behavioral Health, and Population Health teams came together to make the event another huge success.

In all, we completed 20 tests and provided lots of information on PrEP and PEP; distributed 60 Narcan kits, made a few new patient appointments, and gave out lots of information about Chase Brexton’s services—and distributed a ton of swag!

Thank you to everyone who braved the cold to come out and see us, and a special thank you to our team members who took part in this terrific event!
