The Historic East Baltimore Community Action Coalition announced on Friday that it will cease operations in the coming months after 31 years of service, citing major funding losses and depleted reserves.
The closure will also end several neighborhood programs run by the nonprofit, including the Eastside Youth Opportunity Center, Dee’s Place recovery center and The NEST youth shelter.
HEBCAC President Brandon Lockett said in a statement that the “loss of significant operational funding and a shortage of unrestricted revenue and cash reserves have made it impossible for HEBCAC to continue providing services to the community.” Read more: https://bit.ly/4r07mEn
