You don’t have to be the “strong friend” every day.
You don’t have to carry everything in silence.
And you definitely don’t have to do it alone.

There is real courage in softening
In being honest about what hurts,
In asking for support before you reach your limit,
In choosing yourself, even when it feels unfamiliar.

Strength isn’t about holding everything together.
Sometimes it’s about finally letting go of the pressure.

Sometimes survival mode becomes so familiar that you forget what it feels like to breathe fully.
Life keeps moving, and you show up, but something inside still feels heavy and unspoken.

If this feels true for you…
Your feelings are not an inconvenience.
Your softness is not a burden.
And you deserve support too.

Give yourself a moment today.
A slow breath.
A gentle reminder that you are human before anything else.

Excited to announce that has been selected to be a part of the newest cohort of the Social Innovation Lab at Johns Hopkins! 🎉

Over the coming months we will receive funding, training, support and mentorship to grow and scale our social impact ventures! Honored to be a part of this dynamic group and excited to see what’s next for us all.

Kitchen Therapy started as a playground for my passions of food, mental health, wellness and culture. As I’ve started to do the work, I recognize how great the need is for accessible mental health care, culturally rooted supports, & safe spaces for healing esp in my dear city of Baltimore. I can’t do it alone! Grateful for the team that saw my vision and their readiness to help me build! Let’s gooooo!

Feeling deeply grateful for the energy and abundance at this year’s Harvest Festival hosted by at Allen AME Church! 🌾🍲✨

I had the joy of leading a cooking demo using fresh produce grown by our Black farmers — and together we created a comforting harvest soup filled with warmth, nourishment, and community care. We were reminded of the symbolism & intention of each ingredient as they came together to make meal satisfying to the mind and body.

This season invites us to stay rooted, honor the hands that feed us, and remember that abundance grows when we gather together. 🌿

If you weren’t able to grab the recipe at the event, I got you!
— just drop a 🌱 in the comments or send me a message and I’ll share it with you.

I keep a yoga mat in the office in case of emergencies!
The emergency can be a last minute cancellation or the need for a nervous system reset; today both applied! Glad I was able to start my day with grace and flow when my client wasn’t able to make it in today.🧘🏾‍♀️
How do you shift when things don’t go as you expect them to?

Posting to the main feed so it doesn’t get lost in the stories!

The next time you experience a good thing, take a moment to soak it up in your body! Take a deep breath and notice the pleasant sensations that show up when you’re reminded of it. Stress and trauma live in the body but so do joy and peace. Let those superpowers of the mind body connection work for your good. 💫

A big thank you to for inviting me to share about the power of essential oils for their mindfulness hour event! We covered what essential oils are, how they can be used and created our own custom blends to help with emotional support. So important to have tangible ways to manage stress as it comes up. Loved seeing so many student out after a long day of classes, committed to improving their mental health!

This weekend I had the honor of leading a Mindful Movement segment at on behalf of my practice Afya Counseling and Wellness Services, LLC! Together mindfulness and movement can be a powerful tool for managing stress, grief and trauma for children and their families. We did some breathing, stretching, dancing and laughing together; I even had my (not so) little ones join in! I love stepping outside of the therapy office into back into my community to remind us all of the intrinsic capacity for healing we all possess! Real change happens where it matters most…in community. 💫

Can I be honest?

I love the flexibility that virtual therapy has afforded us all over the last 5 years but it’s something about sitting on this couch!

Being in this space that’s being held just for us. I love coming in the office, turning on my diffuser, cleansing the space and setting the tone for the day. I appreciate the clients that can create some intentionality to commute in and what that requires of me as well. Grateful for in person sessions that remind me that there’s more that brings me and my clients together than what separates us. ❤️💫

What do you prefer, in person or virtual therapy?
