Knowing yourself gives you a foundation for advocating for yourself. Listening to yourself means listening to the discomfort, the anger, the joy, the anxiety, the stomach turns, the sweaty palms, the increase in heart rate, the clenched jaw and raised shoulders, and even the curiosity.

The more accepting we are of difference amongst us, the easier life becomes. Teach your children to be compassionately curious, don’t shush or shame their curiosity. It emboldens them to be comfortable in their authenticity!
