This is to alert you that yesterday's storm was one storm too many for our old faithful pharmacy server. Recent storms have really wreaked havoc over our operations at Mt. Washington due to dated infrastructure in & around the Mill.
After spending the whole day troubleshooting the issue, we have determined that yesterday's storm has resulted in irreparable damage to our pharmacy server. We have no reason, however, to believe that any of the data drives are damaged. In addition to the server drives, the data is also backed up daily on local external drives & also on the cloud. So please rest assured that you all your information, medical records, insurance plans, prescriptions, credit card information, etc. all are intact & secure.
A new server has been commissioned & already built but unfortunately missed the deadline for overnight shipping. We expect the new server to arrive Tuesday morning & we hope to complete deployment in time for our opening on Wednesday morning at 9:00 am.
We have implemented a crisis management plan to help mitigate the impacts on you, our patient. Since, all of our computer terminals are just fancy paper weights until the new server is deployed and do not afford us the ability to service you at all, we have decided to close our Mt. Washington location for Saturday, Monday & Tuesday and to re-open on Wednesday. Meanwhile, we reallocating staff & resources to our Woodholme location so we can handle the expected spike in volume due to the closure of the Mt. Washington location.
What this means to you? While we can't possibly cover every scenario, I will share our action plan for the most common ones:
If your prescription number(s) start(s) with a 6, you are a Woodholme patient anyways & the only impact on you is that you can't pick up at Mt. Washington until Wednesday. Meanwhile, your prescription can be picked up at Woodholme or delivered to your home or work by calling 410-559-1750.
If your prescription number(s) start(s) with a 1, you are a Mt. Washington patient & you're impacted the most:
For delivery prescriptions that have been filled prior to the server failure & were waiting for delivery, they will be delivered to you as soon as tomorrow. Since copays can only be processed on the Mt. Washington server, we will collect cash, checks or credit card information for later processing.
Will-Call prescriptions that have been filled prior to the server failure & were waiting for pick up were moved earlier today to Woodholme & starting Saturday we will proactively call those patients to offer free delivery . Of course, you're always welcome to stop by our Woodholme location if you would like. Since copays can only be processed on the Mt. Washington server, we will collect cash, checks or credit card information for later processing.
Refill requests or new prescriptions received yesterday afternoon or later. Those prescriptions are safely stored in our system but we currently have no means of accessing this data to process claims.
If you have an urgent need that cannot be delayed until Wednesday, please call the Pharmacia at Woodholme at 410-559-1750 so we can work with you or your prescriber to find a solution or at least minimize the inconvenience. We can either advance a partial or request a new prescription sent to Woodholme.
If you can wait until Wednesday, please call Woodholme to place your refill requests. We will take it down manually & process your request as soon as we redeploy our server by Wednesday morning.
While we know that lately we have not been at the top of our game but this one is really beyond our control. Thanks for those who continue to support us & our apologies to those we may have disappointed.
Stay healthy & stay safe.
Thanks,
