Meet Meghan Westwood, LCSW-C,
Chief of Programs, Maryland Treatment Centers
Meghan Westwood, LCSW-C has been the Chief of Programs for Maryland Treatment Centers, Inc. since 2022.
A 1990 graduate of Colgate University, she earned her Master's degree in Social Work from Catholic University in 1993.
Meghan began her career with the Maryland Treatment Centers family in 1996. With over 25 years experience in the delivery of addiction treatment services, she has served in many capacities, including Executive Director of Substance Abuse Treatment Services ranging from outpatient to inpatient detoxification.
Meghan has been instrumental in expanding our continuum to include relapse prevention medications and mental health services. She is an active member of Montgomery County’s Overdose Intervention Team, sits on Montgomery County’s Overdose Fatality Review Team and is part of the leadership that implemented the highly recognized and successful deflection program, STEER. The STEER project is a model collaboration between behavioral health, the local health department and the criminal justice system. She recently served as a member of the Maryland Governor’s advisory council for the Opioid Restitution Funds. She has presented both locally and nationally at various workshops and trainings on addictions, treatment, and co-occurring disorders and has served as a field instructor and adjunct faculty for the University of Maryland School of Social Work, while providing internships to various other behavioral health disciplines.
Meghan is known for the sense of caring she brings to all the staff and patients she interacts with daily.
