A Word From Our Director
Welcome to the Positive Steps LLC website! Within these pages, you will find information about our Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program and Therapeutic Behavioral Services.
Positive Steps is a new PRP program in Baltimore City that is hoping to make a positive impact in the lives of our citizens. At Positive Steps we believe PRP services can be an essential part of an individual’s recovery from mental illness if used effectively. We believe every individual has the potential to live a healthy, happy life and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to assist individuals in making that journey.
Positive Steps is working to remove all possible barriers to success with incentive programs such as offering monthly bus passes to our clients who are using those passes to reach their individual rehabilitation goals. We offer access to computers for clients to work on job searches, resume’-building and other tasks associated with rehabilitation goals. Looking ahead, we plan to expand even further to include assistance programs such as a "Back to School Fund", a "Christmas Fund" and an "Emergency Fund". We hope these resources used in conjunction with the services provided by our highly-trained direct care workers will keep the clients engaged and invested in improving their future.
We are committed to tracking the growth of our clients and have incorporated the CANS (Child and Adolescent Needs and Assessment) assessment tool to track the progress of our adolescent clients. Our management team has over 40 years of experience providing therapy in the community and has an excellent prospective on what the needs of our community members are. We understand the recovery process from the role of the therapist as well as the PRP program and I believe this makes us uniquely aware of how these two services can function together in a way that is most helpful to the clients. Based on information we have received from referral sources, we also recognize the need to bring these valuable services to other areas of our state. We are currently working to provide services in Harford, Anne Arundel and Cecil counties.
We are delighted to be part of the mental health system in Maryland and look forward to making a difference in the lives of our citizens!
Sincerely,
Alisha Womack, MSW, LCSW-C
