Just a quick reminder that acupuncture doesn't have to hurt to work. This is a case where "no pain, no gain" simply doesn't apply. I know it goes against everything we've been taught but here, feeling better can be easy. Let me know if any of the needles are too much so I can adjust them or use a different point. Then you can drift off into an acupuncture nap and wake up feeling relieved and refreshed.

When you come in for a specific issue, you might find that lots of other things start feeling better too. Because acupuncture is holistic, people report additional benefits like better mood, relaxation, greater energy, improved digestion and more restful sleep. Have you experienced improvements you weren't expecting?

We are treating your whole body with each treatment. So maybe you came in for shoulder pain but now you're sleeping better or feeling a lot less irritable. Sometimes it surprises even me how these tiny needles can make such a huge impact. How tiny? These sterile, solid acupuncture needles are the thickness of a cat's whisker. They can actually bend! But placed in the right spots with enough time to do their work and forget about it. They're changing lives!

Our Story

Maryland Community Acupuncture is part of a movement of clinics across the country offering affordable treatment in a community setting. In China it’s not uncommon for a patient to receive treatment daily in this way until symptoms are alleviated. But in the U.S. a private acupuncture treatment typically costs $65-$150, making that hard. Community acupuncture creates a solution. At $20 a treatment we hope you can come as frequently as you need to see results.

Maryland Community Acupuncture is a proud member of the POCA (People's Organization of Community Acupuncture), which networks community acupuncture clinics around the world.

The acupuncturist/owner Sarah Wehner, L.Ac. Dipl. received her master’s degree from Maryland University of Integrative Health in 2007. She is a licensed acupuncturist in the state of Maryland and a NCCAOM Diplomate in Acupuncture. She opened Maryland Community Acupuncture in spring 2018 with the intention of offering effective acupuncture at a price you can afford. A Baltimore native, Sarah enjoys trying new recipes, listening to live music and traveling.
