Disability Rights Maryland (DRM) is a private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization advocating to improve the lives of Marylanders with disabilities.Visit our website: www.DisabilityRightsMD.org for more information about our services. Disability Rights Maryland (DRM), a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, is Maryland’s designated Protection & Advocacy agency (formerly known as “Maryland Disability Law Center”). We provide free legal services to Marylanders of any age with all types of disabilities (developmental, intellectual, psychiatric, physical, sensory, learning, traumatic brain injury), who live in facilities, in the community or who are homeless. DRM maximizes resources by using an array of advocacy strategies, including information and referral, advice and counsel, outreach and education, monitoring and investigations, training and technical assistance, coalition and policy work, individual representation, impact litigation and support for self-advocacy. DRM creates a more integrated, just society and improves the lives of people with disabilities by advancing legal rights and ensuring equality of opportunity to participate in community life.

Maryland is often on the forefront of pushing for change and justice. Thank you Senator Chris Van Hollen for keeping up the trend!

Thank you to U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, Chris Van Hollen, Friends of Glenn Thompson - Team GT & Congressman Jared Huffman for championing the IDEA 50th Anniversary Resolution.

Imagine a Maryland where people with disabilities can travel safely, don’t have to fight to reach their goals, and have everything they need within reach. That’s what we’re fighting for. On this Giving Tuesday will you partner us with a gift of $10, $50, or $150?

As we round out Assistive Technology Month, here’s a few bills that passed this year that will expand access to assistive technology in Maryland. We are proud that our advocacy paired with our partners, can help expand access and make Maryland more inclusive!

11/27/2025

Giving Tuesday is an opportunity to partner with us in fighting for a more inclusive Maryland.

We’ve come a long way and have a ways to go. When you partner with us you’re not only helping us change lives but change systems. Systems that can either create barriers for people with disabilities or create opportunities.

Help us reach our goal to serve more people and change more systems. DisabilityRightsMD.org/Donate
