Our Carroll County office is taking our Clothesline Project on the road, bringing awareness, healing, and survivor voices to local colleges.

Last week, we had the privilege of partnering with McDaniel College to share a powerful glimpse of this project. The Clothesline Project is a visual display of survivor-created shirts that honor stories of strength, raise awareness about violence, and create space for healing.

We will be at Carroll Community College on April 6th from 10 AM–2 PM. Students will be able to view the display and create a shirt if they are a survivor or loved one that has been impacted by violence.

We also offer individual sessions at our Carroll office for those who would like to share their story and contribute a shirt in a more private setting.
To learn more or get involved, please contact Nicole Jackman at 410-876-1233.

Together, we amplify voices, honor experiences, and stand with survivors.

Pause for a moment and check in with yourself. Notice your mood, breathe, and give yourself permission to do one gentle thing that helps — rest, stretch, hydrate, or step outside. Your feelings matter. 🌿

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Carroll County Board of Commissioners for proclaiming April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month—an important step in raising awareness and standing with survivors in our community.

This proclamation was made possible through the support and collaboration of the CARE Healing Center, the State’s Attorney’s Office, and the Forensic Care Center at Carroll Hospital Center. Springboard values these community partnerships that allow us to work together to ensure survivors receive compassionate care, advocacy, and support.

If you or someone you know needs help after experiencing sexual assault, the CARE Healing Center is available 24/7. You are not alone—confidential support is just a call away at 410-857-7322.

Let’s continue working together to raise awareness, support survivors, and build a safer, more compassionate community.

It’s okay to begin with a tiny step. This Monday, choose one small thing that supports your mental health — a five-minute walk, a short breathing break, or sending a message to a friend. Small steps add up. You don’t have to do it all at once. 💙

Tell us one small step you’ll take today — share in the comments and inspire someone else.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate two outstanding members of the Springboard Community team who were recently recognized at the Carroll County Sheriff's Office - Maryland Training Academy graduation.

Missy Cougnet, a Springboard Therapist, and Natalie Klein, an Advocate, were honored as vital members of the Carroll County Child Advocacy Center. Their dedication to supporting children, youth, and families who have experienced physical and sexual abuse makes a lasting impact every single day.

Their compassion, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to serving some of the most vulnerable members of our community truly embody the mission of Springboard.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office for recognizing our staff, and to the incredible multidisciplinary team at the Child Advocacy Center—whose members go above and beyond to provide care, protection, and hope.

Please join us in congratulating Missy and Natalie on this well-deserved recognition.

At Springboard Community Services, we believe in growing the helpers of tomorrow.

For the second year, we’re proud to partner with Winters Mill High School to support promising high school seniors through our internship program.

Internships give students real-world experience, build confidence, and help shape future careers in service and leadership. By investing in young people today, we’re strengthening our community for tomorrow.

For over 170 years, Springboard Community Services has dedicated itself to transforming the lives of Maryland’s most vulnerable.

Built on a bedrock of integrity, compassion, and responsiveness, Springboard Community Services continues to be an innovative, agile, and comprehensive provider of services — many of which are free or low-fee — that span the life cycle, from supporting expectant mothers to caring for the at-risk elderly. Through a broad mix of case management, counseling, and support, we provide not only a safety net but a springboard to those who need it most. Our mission: Break the cycle of poverty, abuse, and despair, one person, one family, one generation at a time.

A 501(c) non-profit organization, Springboard has 6 locations in Baltimore City and the surrounding five counties, including multiple counseling offices and two medical adult daycares. We are the on-site mental health provider at the Child Advocacy Centers (CAC) in Carroll, Harford, and Howard counties, with a formal partnership with CACs in Baltimore County. We are also the identified domestic violence provider for Carroll County and West Baltimore County.

Springboard Community Services is licensed to practice as an Outpatient Mental Health Clinic with immediate appointment openings in Baltimore City, Carroll, Harford, and Howard counties. As a licensed clinic, we offer the continuum of mental health care provided by a multidisciplinary team including social workers, counselors, nurse practitioners, case managers and a psychiatrist who specializes in child and adolescent psychiatry. We provide a broad array of trauma-informed services for individuals and families along their life course from children through senior citizens.
