Last night, I attended the Arts Every Day 20th Anniversary Celebration, where we honored the leaders who helped build the foundation for expanding arts education across Baltimore.

Arts Every Day continues to play a critical role in supporting young people—not just academically, but emotionally. Creative expression is a powerful tool for processing experiences, building confidence, and strengthening overall well-being.

At Restoring Destiny Mental Health Services, we recognize that mental health support extends beyond traditional clinical settings. Access to the arts is one of many ways young people are able to express themselves, heal, and grow.

Over the past three years, I’ve had the privilege of serving on the Board of Arts Every Day alongside Fred Lazarus IV, President Emeritus of the Maryland Institute College of Art. I’ve also had the honor of serving with Dr. Elizabeth “Liz” Nuss, Former Board Chair, and Anne Perkins, Former State Delegate and Emeritus Board Member.

Dr. Nuss, Anne, and I worked together on the Governance Committee prior to their retirement—experiences that continue to shape how I approach leadership and service.

This work matters. And we remain committed to supporting the whole person—through care that is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and rooted in community.

Today, I attended the Arts Every Day 20th Anniversary Celebration as a Board Member.

It was a powerful reminder that mental health support doesn’t only happen in clinical settings—it also happens through creativity, expression, and access to the arts.

At Restoring Destiny Mental Health Services, we understand that healing takes many forms. Arts education plays an important role in helping young people build confidence, process emotions, and develop resilience.

Grateful to be part of spaces that align with our mission to support the whole person and strengthen communities across Baltimore.

Weekend reminder: rest is not a reward—it’s part of your healing. 🤍Slow down. Reset. Take care of you.

April is Alcohol Awareness Month.

Sometimes what feels like coping can quietly impact your sleep, your mood, and your overall mental health.

This month is about awareness—not judgment.
It’s about checking in with yourself and being honest about what you need.

Support is available. And you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Serenity is stepping into adulthood, and Jaelynn is now 3 years old—both at different stages of growth, identity, and development.

At Restoring Destiny Mental Health Services, this is what our work is rooted in—supporting women across generations as they navigate life, healing, and change.

Because mental health doesn’t just impact one person—it shapes families, legacies, and what we pass down.

04/22/2026

Your environment plays a bigger role in your mental health than most people realize.

Access to green space.
Clean air.
Safe, stable neighborhoods.

These are not luxuries—they are essential to healing.

This Earth Day, we’re naming what’s often overlooked:
Environmental conditions directly impact emotional well-being.

Supporting mental health also means advocating for healthier communities.
