Dr. Jason Molitoris was recently on WBAL-TV 11 Baltimore, where he discussed what proton therapy is and how it can help patients like Paul Murray, who was diagnosed with tonsil cancer. Paul has been singing and playing music with his good friend since the 1970s, so preserving his voice was critical to him and the MPTC team. Because proton therapy precisely targets tumors, it decreased the overall radiation to nearby structures in Murray's throat. As Dr. Molitoris describes, “He is an ideal candidate for that reason: To use proton therapy in an effort to be able to allow him to do what he loves to do.”

Check out Paul’s story here:

A different kind of radiation therapy can help cancer patients preserve who they are.

Breast cancer isn’t just something that affects older women. More young women are being diagnosed, and many don’t realize they could be at risk. Knowing the signs, understanding your personal risk, and speaking up if something feels off can make all the difference. Early detection saves lives.

Being at high risk could qualify you for early, potentially life-saving screening.
