Our recent Create & Connect group brought the slopes indoors! ⛷️
In celebration of Black History Month and the Winter Olympics, our Day Program participants skied through a cone course, stopping at stations to learn about groundbreaking Black American Olympians who paved the way in winter sports and beyond.

The Winter Olympics have officially begun at MWPH! ❄️🏅
This morning, patients celebrated with an Opening Ceremony parade—complete with paper torches, flags, and medals—bringing Olympic spirit throughout the hospital.
As part of our Skill Building with Bata this week, the Olympics theme focused on friendship, unity, and community. Patients reflected on what it means to be a friend through creative activities, participated in a “Pass the Torch” relay to build teamwork and motor skills, and wrapped up with a game of fetch centered on cooperation and turn-taking.

Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital provides family-focused, integrated care to children with serious, chronic or complex medical needs. Since 1922, the hospital has helped children heal from illness and injury, and now treats nearly 9,000 patients each year. The 102-bed hospital is a jointly owned affiliate of The University of Maryland Medical System and Johns Hopkins Medicine and has locations in Baltimore City, Prince George’s County and in the community.
