Ending the week on a high note! 💙
We’re so thrilled for Kameryn (in blue) and her family as she headed home today. Kameryn came to MWPH from Johns Hopkins Children's Center and made incredible strides during her time with us.
Not only is she going home with her parents, but she’ll also be reunited with her five siblings—including her twin, Kaelyn!
We wish Kameryn continued healing, growth, and lots of joyful moments at home. 🏡✨

“My cheeks hurt so bad… it’s because I’ve been smiling all day.” — Bradley, 10 😊
That quote says it all about our incredible four days at Wisp Resort with our Abilities Adventures families. ❄️🏔️

Many of our participants tried adaptive skiing or snowboarding for the very first time, went tubing, played games, made crafts, and spent time with our facility dog, Babs. Before each activity, they set goals: be brave, make a new friend, help others, and try something new.

“This is the first time I’ve felt accepted by everyone around me.” — Joel, 14
“I actually feel like a real athlete.” — Ailyn, 16

By the end of the weekend, our families weren’t just participants—they were a community. 💙

If this made you smile, drop a ❤️ in the comments.

🧠 We’re proud to celebrate Brain Injury Awareness Month across our Meyerhoff unit and Outpatient department!

Our Meyerhoff interdisciplinary team hosted hands-on learning activities led by Rehab and Nursing, while Child Life shared brain-themed coloring pages with patients and staff enjoyed brain temporary tattoos. Our Outpatient team supported families with brain injury resource pamphlets and brain-shaped stress balls.

Together, we’re raising awareness and strengthening how we support patients with brain injuries. 💚

Home Days are the best days at MWPH! 💙
Last week, we were thrilled to send Ta'Zari home with his family! Ta'Zari came to us from Johns Hopkins Children's Center and made tremendous progress during his time at MWPH. We couldn’t be happier for this sweet boy and his family as they begin their next chapter at home. 🏠✨

Today's Community Re-entry Outing took us to School of Rock Pikesville for an unforgettable, music-filled experience. The School of Rock team generously donated a private lesson hour, brought in extra staff, and created such a welcoming, hands-on environment.
The boys explored guitars, drums, and more — even stepping into the spotlight as lead singer! It was a joyful, therapeutic opportunity to engage, express themselves, and simply have fun.
They even went home with shirts, water bottles, picks, and drumsticks. A day full of music and big smiles. 💙🎶

Home Day for Mikal! 🏡💙
After beginning his journey at University of Maryland Golisano Children's Hospital, Mikal came to MWPH in October to continue growing stronger so he could reunite with his twin brother, Makhi, at home.
Today, he was celebrated with a special clap-out by the many team members who supported him throughout his journey. Surrounded by his mom, cousin, and twin brother, Mikal headed home at last.
Wishing you continued healing and happiness, sweet boy! 💙
