At just a few weeks old, baby Zac was diagnosed with a rare immune disorder that led to organ failure. His parents were told his chances of surviving long enough for a transplant were slim — so slim that they were encouraged to have family come say goodbye.
But then came the call that changed everything. At just five weeks old, Zac received part of a liver from another child, making him one of the youngest babies to undergo a liver transplant.
After months in intensive care, Zac grew stronger each day. Today, at three years old, he’s an active little boy who loves football, bouncing on the trampoline, and playing with his big brother Jake.
His mother calls him “a miracle” and shares her gratitude for the donor family who gave Zac a second chance. https://www.donatelifenw.org/content/register-now
