We’re still dealing with ice and frigid temperatures across our region after the recent storm. If you’re still digging out, we hope you’re staying safe. ❤️ Hazardous conditions have made shoveling especially difficult, and it’s important to take precautions to avoid injury.

Dr. Miriam Fischer, emergency medicine physician, spoke with the Washington Post and shared tips on how to stay safe while clearing snow and ice.

Remember to dress in layers and wear shoes with proper tread to help prevent slips and falls. Dr. Fischer also emphasizes taking it slow: “You can overexert yourself and strain muscles.”
