October is also Liver Cancer Awareness Month! Help us spread awareness about so that people can get diagnosed early and save lives - Ask your doctor about liver cancer surveillance today.

Did you know - Tattoos pose risks to the liver mainly through the transmission of bloodborne viruses like Hepatitis C (HCV) and Hepatitis B (HBV) if unsterile equipment is used. While the liver is not directly damaged by the ink itself, tattoo pigments can be transported via the bloodstream to the liver, potentially causing inflammation or stress to liver cells. To reduce risks, seek licensed artists who use sterile, single-use needles and fresh ink in a sanitary environment.

The first step is usually getting blood work done to check your liver levels and then if needed, imaging can be ordered to check on possible issues. Call The Clinic today at 830-796-3448 to schedule or get information about scheduling an appointment to see a provider to discuss any issues or concerns.
