We’re grateful today for our paws-itively amazing therapy dog volunteers! 🐾

🐶 At Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center, we’re so thankful for our incredible teams—both two-legged and four-legged—who bring comfort, smiles, and science-backed healing to our patients. 💙 Dogs are amazing companions during recovery because their presence alone can lower stress and blood pressure, which helps the body heal faster. That’s the power of paw-sitive vibes! 🌟

Today and every day, we’re thankful for these furry heroes and their humans for making a real difference in our care. We’re so lucky to have you all on Team EMMC!

On November 18, a new sound rang through Grant 8 Pediatrics at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center—not alarms or even newborn baby chimes, but of hope. 🛎️💙

The unit was gifted the Journey Bell, a beautiful tribute from the Nickerson family and the Brady Nickerson Foundation. It’s a bell with purpose: not just marking the end of treatment but honoring every brave step along the way.

Angel Nickerson, a 25-year CNA at EMMC, once cared for kids here—and later, watched the same team care for her son Brady during his courageous fight. After losing him in 2019, she turned grief into grace, founding the foundation that bares Brady's name to lift up young patients and the staff who stand with them.

Many on Grant 8 know Angel. Some cared for Brady. This bell is personal for us. It’s for the kids, the team, and the shared journey of courage, love, and resilience.

We sincerely thank the Nickerson family and the Brady Nickerson Foundation for this wonderful gift, a lovely reminder that even in hard times, hope can ring loud. 🌟
