A huge Thank You to Corinth American Legion Post 115 for generously sponsoring the celebration. ❤️

We’d also like to thank Sam’s Club for donating the beautiful birthday cake — residents enjoyed the fall theme! 🎂✨

And of course, no party is complete without great music! A big shoutout to Dale for providing the perfect soundtrack to keep everyone smiling. 🎶😊

🍎 A BIG thank-you to the Marine Corps League for bringing us on this outing!

Our residents enjoyed a beautiful September day at Hooper Apple Orchard. This was followed by a delicious picnic BBQ — thank you for cooking, serving, and spending the day with us.

We'd also like to thank Ben & Belle, owners of Hooper Apple Orchard for welcoming us so warmly. Your orchard is beautiful, and we loved every minute of our visit.

Some residents and staff took a moment to share what they are grateful for or what food they look forward to most on the big day. 🦃✨

Thanksgiving is a tradition deeply rooted in coming together, sharing abundance, and recognizing the blessings in our lives. It’s also a day that reminds us to honor those who have served—Veterans who protected the freedoms that allow us to gather, celebrate, and give thanks.

On September 11, our residents and staff were honored with a special visit from members of the United States Navy Band, stationed out of Rhode Island.

Their performance filled our Home with patriotic melodies for a beautiful time of reflection on a day that means so much to all of us.

A sincere thank you to the Navy Band for sharing your talent, your time, and your commitment to service. Our Veterans were deeply touched by your presence. 💙⚓️❤️

We celebrated Veterans Day all WEEK last week! It was beautiful and the outpouring of support for our community was impressive as always.

Here’s a look at the wonderful events we participated in and the friends of MVH that made them possible:

✨ Hunter’s Breakfast with American Legion Post #75 in Old Town
✨ Music & dance performance by the students of Penobscot Christian School
✨ Veterans Day cards delivered by Cross Insurance, Center Drive School, Hampden Community Co-Op, and several surrounding schools — our residents LOVED them!
✨ A special visit from the American Legion in Hermon, who gifted each resident a small flag with a stand
✨ Veterans Day Parade outing
✨ Delicious lunches generously donated by:
• Olive Garden
• Angelo’s Pizzeria
• Hilton Garden Inn
• American Legion Post 84, Orono
• Knights of Columbus, Bangor
• Bagel Central
• Kentucky Fried Chicken

Our 9th Annual Bike Show & BBQ was earlier this fall and it was spectacular!

A huge thank-you to the Patriot Riders of America - Maine Chapter 3 for bringing the bikes, the energy, and the smiles. Our residents loved every minute! 🏍️💛

We’re also grateful to the Darling's Ice Cream for a Cause for the sweet treats, and to Jim Turcotte for the amazing French Fry Bar — always a crowd favorite!

🎉 🎂 We're catching up on sharing recent events...this was a wonderful afternoon celebrating our residents’ August birthdays! The event was sponsored by the Marine Corps League, with a delicious cake generously donated by Sam’s Club and live music by Dale. 🎶

🎶 Residents, staff, and guests had a fantastic time at our outdoor BBQ and concert back on August 28! This annual event is sponsored by our partner Renewal by Andersen of Greater Maine! The afternoon featured great food, sunshine, and live performances by Elvis and the Alumni Jazz Band. 🎤🎷🍔

Thank you to Renewal by Andersen for your generous support and to everyone who helped make this event such a memorable day for our residents! 💙

🎃👻 Halloween is coming! 🍬🧡

We're throwing it back to last year with this group photo — and we can’t wait to do it again!

This fun, family-friendly event is open to the public and gives our residents the chance to hand out treats and enjoy the joy of Halloween with local families. 🎃

🍭 We’re collecting candy donations now!
Please consider dropping off bags of individually wrapped candy in our front lobby so our Veterans have plenty to share with all the little ghosts and goblins who stop by.

Thank you for helping us make this a sweet and special evening for our residents and community! 💜
