Today, as part of Farmworker Awareness Week, we salute our Outreach team and all InterCare staff who provide care and services to the seasonal agricultural workers in our area. In 2025, InterCare Outreach saw thousands of farmworkers at 101 locations in our region. This includes more than 1,000 assessments by nurses and more than 1,000 needs assessments by community health workers. The mobile medical unit, our “clinic on wheels,” also saw more than 1,000 patients. Hundreds of referrals were made to outside agencies or InterCare clinics. Thank you to everyone — the community health workers and the medical, dental and mental health staff — who helped to expand access to care for these workers and their families!

March 25-31 is Farmworker Awareness Week. We recognize the essential role that agricultural workers play in harvesting and packaging the fresh and healthy food that ends up on our supermarket shelves. We appreciate that many travel long distances to do this work and support their families.

Our dedicated staff provides support for individuals and families through counseling at all of our health centers. Our professionals include outpatient therapists for traditional counseling, consultants who provide brief, targeted interventions during your health care appointment, substance use disorder treatment and case workers.
