Hyperbaric Nurses Day is April 25, and today we’re proud to recognize the caring team behind this powerful therapy. 💚

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) delivers 100% oxygen in a pressurized setting to support healing. It helps patients with chronic wounds, infections, and other complex conditions, offering comfort, hope, and a path toward recovery.🕣🌱

Our hyperbaric nurses bring not only skill and focus, but a steady, reassuring presence to every patient they care for. They guide each step of the healing process with compassion and dedication.

Please join us in celebrating and thanking this incredible team for the steady difference they bring to patients and families throughout the healing journey. From left to right: Sasha Miller RN, Evan Nadeau, RN, CHRN, Susan Donahue RN CHRN, David Buterbaugh RN, and Danielle Gray RN CHRN.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming community members to our Healthy Aging Luncheon at Jeff's Catering and Event Center.💚

Guests joined Dr. Jims Jean-Jacques, DO, of St. Joseph Cardiology for an engaging conversation about heart health, the care we offer at St. Joe’s, and ways to support healthy living at every stage.

We were also glad to have someone available for one-on-one MyChart support, helping answer questions and making it easier to stay connected to your care.

Events like this are a reminder of how powerful it is to come together, learn from one another, and build connections right here in our community.

To everyone who joined us, thank you for spending part of your day with us. We are already looking forward to the next one.

Today we celebrate Administrative Professionals Day and recognize the dedicated individuals whose call to serve looks a little different, but is just as essential.💚

While you may not be at the bedside, your impact is felt in every patient experience. From unit secretaries and schedulers to patient service representatives and administrative support staff, you are the steady force behind the scenes keeping everything moving forward. You are often the first connection, the guiding voice, and the reassuring presence that helps patients and families feel supported from the very start.

Thank you for the vital role you play in our mission. We are grateful for you and all that you do each and every day.🕊️

This week, in recognition of Crime Victims’ Rights Week, WABI TV5 highlighted the work of SAFE nurses at St. Joseph Healthcare.

Our Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner (SAFE) nurses provide compassionate, trauma-informed care to patients who have experienced violence, including sexual assault. In collaboration with community partners, they meet patients where they are, supporting both their physical and emotional needs and helping connect them with ongoing resources.

Take a moment to watch this short segment featuring Stephanie Deredin, RN, SAFE Nurse, as she shares how we are here to support those in need.

As we also recognize Sexual Assault Awareness Month, we are reminded that awareness is only the beginning. Listening, believing, and supporting survivors is what truly matters.

We are honored to care for our community when it matters most.

Yesterday, we had the honor of celebrating the people who give so much of themselves, our remarkable volunteers. At a special luncheon held at the Hilton Garden Inn, we took a moment to recognize the countless ways they show up for our patients, our Home Care and Hospice team, and our Spiritual Care ministry.

Last year, our volunteers collectively gave 3,785 hours of their time. Among them, two members have served 25–29 years, one has contributed over 15,000 hours, and five new volunteers have recently joined our family. Each one is a reminder of what community care truly looks like.

National Healthcare Volunteer Week has celebrated this spirit of service since 1974, and we are proud to carry that tradition forward. Thank you to Renée for organizing such a meaningful event, and to every volunteer who gives their time, their heart, and their presence to St. Joseph Healthcare. We are deeply grateful. 💚💐

This week is Medical Laboratory Professionals Week, and we want to say a thank you to our incredible lab team here at St. Joseph Healthcare. While you may never see all of them during your visit, their careful, skilled work is behind nearly every diagnosis your doctor makes. They show up every single day, with dedication to this community. We are so grateful for each and every one of them. 💚

What a night to remember. 🌟 We were so proud to serve as the Entertainment Sponsor at the BRCC Annual Awards Event, and being in that room, surrounded by so many incredible leaders, businesses, and organizations, reminded us exactly why we love this community.

Huge congratulations to all honorees, and thank you to the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce for putting together such a meaningful evening.

Michael Starks, MD, St. Joseph General Surgery, recently returned from a medical relief trip to Kenya, where he provided critical surgical care to underserved communities, bringing compassion and healing where it was needed most.

From Bangor to Kenya, Dr. Starks answered the call. His work reflects our mission as a Catholic health ministry, caring for the whole person, in service to all, lived out on a global scale.

We’re grateful to have him back home and thankful he shared moments from his journey, with photos by Dr. Starks capturing Kenya’s incredible culture and wildlife.

Thank you, Dr. Starks, for extending our mission far beyond our walls.

St. Joseph Healthcare has received a $10,000 grant from Free ME from Lung Cancer to support early lung cancer screening for high risk patients in our community.

This funding will help uninsured and underinsured individuals access lifesaving screenings in accordance with U.S. Preventive Services Task Force guidelines, removing financial barriers for those who need it most.

Early detection saves lives. We are grateful to Free ME from Lung Cancer for investing in the health of our community and helping more patients receive timely, preventive care.
