Is your routine becoming stagnant?

Notice if you’ve been stuck doing the same motions over and over again, and ask yourself “is this what I want to be spending my time doing?”. If not, consciously make the decision to change it. I find my yoga routine becoming stagnant at times and I start to feel disconnected. Sometimes all that needs to change is my attention to what I’m doing and my intention for doing it.

Let’s talk about FOOD!

*Disclaimer: I am not a nutritionist or dietitian so take everything I say with a grain of salt and ask a doctor for nutrition advice!

Food not only fuels our body but is SO important for culture, community, spreading love, happiness, and yumminess. I’ve struggled to find a balance when it came to my eating habits but after a long road, I’ve found the balance for me in my body. For example, I CANNOT do intermittent fasting and I don’t believe in it. If it works for you, great! I’ve learned what helps me feel my best is a big breakfast in the morning and many small meals throughout the day. From woman to woman (or anyone reading this!), it’s an important journey for us to find a healthy, loving relationship with food and that journey looks different for everyone.

Part of my journey was:
1. Unfollowing the toxic IG influencers that I would compare myself to.
2. Learning what I enjoyed about my lifestyle and what wasn’t serving me.
3. Seeing plenty of doctors.
4. An elimination diet to figure out what my body responded well to or not.
5. Listening to my body - what activities/foods made my body feel good or bad and adapting accordingly.
6. Throwing out the scale!
7. Understanding that ALL bodies are different and there’s no use in comparing myself to others.

Today has been a day for self care. I’m sure that I’m not the only one that has been feeling overcome with emotions and anxiety during this time. We are all going through a lot right now. That’s why I think it’s crucial to take moments for ourselves to experience joy, creativity, community, and care. You can’t give back what you are not allowing yourself.
