Don & Beth Straus Adult Day Program Adult Day Program Participants are encouraged to take part in a variety of daily activities based on their own interests and needs.

The Straus Center supports older adults and their family caregivers through therapeutic programming designed to enhance the quality of life and expressive abilities of each member. Morning and afternoon refreshments and a nourishing home-cooked meal are served each day. Assistance with medication administration is available, along with personal care and grooming. Medical staff at the Community Health Center assist with health monitoring, and work with our staff and your family to develop an individualized plan of care for each participant. Our highly trained staff include a Board-Certified Music Therapist, Qualified Activities Coordinator, Personal Support Specialists, and Certified Residential Medication Aides

Consider the Birch Bay Village Community Lifeline Program for your loved one. Lifeline medical alert services are ideal for:
Older Adults: Especially those living alone or at risk of falls or health issues.
People with Chronic Conditions: Like diabetes or heart disease who may need emergency help.
People with Mobility Issues: Those who have difficulty moving or are at risk of falling.
People Recovering from Surgery/Illness: Who may need extra support in case of complications.
Those Living Alone: Particularly if they have health concerns.
People with Cognitive Impairments: Like Alzheimer's or dementia, who may not recognize emergencies.
Caregivers: To provide peace of mind knowing help is available if needed.
In general, anyone at risk of needing urgent help should consider a Lifeline service.

Please join us in welcoming Stacey Conary, RN/BSN!

Stacey joined Birch Bay Retirement Village as the Director of Clinical Operations in September with over two decades of Nursing Leadership experience and a passion for quality and excellence.

Stacey began her healthcare experience as a bed maker, then a CNA, while working her way through Nursing School and earning her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Husson University. Stacey has committed most of her nursing career to geriatrics. This involved being a State Surveyor for inspections of Nursing Homes for over 20 years as the Director of Nursing for the Maine Veterans Home. Stacey has a strong leadership experience with the resident at the center of the mission.

We make it easy for members to get to and from our program! Did you know the Straus Center membership includes Monday–Friday transportation for easy access to all the wonderful programming that's available at Birch Bay Retirement Village?

Members can enjoy exercise classes twice a week, pet therapy visits, music therapy, off campus outings, meaningful conversations with staff and fellow members and so much more! The Straus Center is a place to stay active, engaged, and connected.
