Don & Beth Straus Adult Day Program Adult Day Program Participants are encouraged to take part in a variety of daily activities based on their own interests and needs.

The Straus Center supports older adults and their family caregivers through therapeutic programming designed to enhance the quality of life and expressive abilities of each member. Morning and afternoon refreshments and a nourishing home-cooked meal are served each day. Assistance with medication administration is available, along with personal care and grooming. Medical staff at the Community Health Center assist with health monitoring, and work with our staff and your family to develop an individualized plan of care for each participant. Our highly trained staff include a Board-Certified Music Therapist, Qualified Activities Coordinator, Personal Support Specialists, and Certified Residential Medication Aides

On these chilly days, the oven is keeping our Straus Members warm! This week, we baked traditional sweet shortbread cookies, filling the space with comfort and delicious aromas. Let us share the care: We're here to help!

We now have openings in the Don & Beth Straus Center Adult Day Program located at Birch Bay Retirement Village. Program hours at Monday through Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.

The Don & Beth Straus Center, an adult day program located at Birch Bay Retirement Village in Bar Harbor, provides socialization and support services for seniors and their family members in Hancock County. Members are encouraged to participate in a variety of programming based on individual needs and interests.

Morning and afternoon refreshments and a nourishing homestyle meal are served daily. Medication administration and personal support, as well as grooming and beauty services are available. Consulting medical staff assist with health monitoring. Program staff work with families to develop an individualized plan of care for each member.
