Have you ever thought about what the skin was designed to do? It is the largest organ to protects us from the environment. Literally it is supposed to keep things out!!

Yes some over the counter products are similar in ingredients, however are they researched to actually get to the layers they are supposed to? Or are they sitting on top of our skin because our skin is doing the job of kicking them out?

This is one of the main reason science backed skincare is more expensive because of the research that is put in for the ingredients to be encapsulated for delivery to the right layer of skin. This is why they work so much better than OTC products.

Skin is designed to protect us, not let everything soak in. For actives to work:

✔ They must reach the viable layers of skin where cellular processes occur
✔ They must stay stable and bioavailable long enough to act
✔ They often need delivery systems that help them pass the barrier

Some ingredients break down easily (Vitamin C oxidizes quickly).

Medical-grade formulas:
✔ Use stable forms (ascorbic acid derivatives or encapsulated Vitamin C)
✔ Protect actives from degrading over time
✔ Improve shelf life and effectiveness

OTC products often use weaker or less stable forms to prevent irritation or cost escalation.

Hopefully I didn’t loose you yet 🤪 but this is why skincare bought in medical clinics works better and actually saves you in the long run. I can’t tell you how many times we’ve heard “wow, my skin does feel different on these products.”

Anyone can inject, but not everyone understands anatomy, depth, product behavior, and facial balance. This is why continued education and trainings are so important to us.

It may seem like a quick appointment but so much goes into injecting. While we are engaging in conversation my brain is thinking through these things!

✨ Placement determines movement- where do I want movement to continue to exist?
✨ Knowing the depth of muscles is a must- am I placing superficial vs deep?
✨ Whether your muscle is engaged or at rest while being injected affects the spread of the product- do I want the product to spread more or less?
✨ understanding facial anatomy with each person- can they handle the amount of toxin placed here or will it look too heavy?

A few millimeters can be the difference between:
• lifted vs heavy
• refreshed vs frozen
• defined vs puffy
• balanced vs overdone

It’s not just about how much product is used — it’s about where and how it’s placed. Thoughtful technique respects your natural anatomy, preserves facial movement, and enhances what’s already beautiful.
