You may ask: how can I be skipping breakfast, but I’m still slowly gaining weight 😠 ?

I used to skip breakfast all the time, and it didn’t seem to matter in my 30s. Taking care of kids, getting their breakfast 🍳 going, getting ready for work, cleaning up the house. 🧹🧽It all seemed more important and besides, I wasn’t hungry.

Why aren’t women hungry in the morning?? Bc we are already zinging along on caffeine ☕️ and stress hormones like cortisol. Guess what spikes along with cortisol? Insulin.

What’s one of the things that insulin does very well? Helps us to RETAIN FAT. Cortisol does that too. Double whammy. 😩

The “creep” started in my 40s… extra weight even though I was skipping breakfast most days. Sometimes lunch too. But then I realized I was hitting quick carbs to squash hunger. Quick carbs like sugar, bread, even fruit 🍉 by itself 🟰more insulin. And now mood too. 🦖

When my DNA 🧬 report let me know that I needed 1️⃣ good protein but not tons 2️⃣complex carbs but in moderation 3️⃣ WAY more healthy fats 🧈 🥑 than I ever suspected … things started to change.

I ate breakfast even if I wasn’t hungry to start getting my needed macros - and what do you think happened?? I didn’t get huge mood swings OR afternoon energy dips ⏰.

Seven years, and I still don’t always love breakfast. I’ve learned to make it fast, easy and yummy 😋 to set myself up for a day of success. 🏆
