Direct Primary Care Provider Dr. Hettlinger is the founder of Hettlinger Health. Dr. Hettlinger is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

He was born and raised in Huntington and was a member of the last graduating class of Barboursville High School. After completing his undergraduate studies at West Virginia University, he had a brief career in sales before going on to medical school at Marshall University where he graduated in 2009. He remained at Marshall to complete an Internal Medicine residency, serving as chief resident during the 2011-2012 academic year. He has served the local area as a primary care physician since 2012, and held various educational and administrative roles within the Department of Internal Medicine at Marshall University along the way. In 2022, Dr. Hettlinger decided to pursue a vision of starting his own private practice under a Direct Primary Care model, and began putting the pieces together to make Hettlinger Health a reality. He is married to his wife Nika, a local dentist also in the village of Barboursville. They have two children, Hampton and Campbell.

Hettlinger Health is currently looking to hire a medical assistant or LPN who would serve as the direct clinical assistant for Dr. Hettlinger. This is a part-time position, working approximately 24-32 hours per week. Pay will be largely dependent on experience, but negotiable and competitive with the local job market. As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, we want to let you know how truly thankful we are for each and every one of you.
We also want to let you know our availability over the next few days and how you may reach us, if needed.
The office will be closed beginning Wednesday, November 22, reopening on Monday, November 27.
As always, if there are urgent issues which need to be addressed, you may call our main office number (304-840-0331) at any time. Please leave a message. All urgent messages will be forwarded to Dr. Hettlinger to be addressed in a timely manner. Secure messaging through Spruce is another option for timely communication. We will address non-urgent matters when we return to the office on Monday.
If you are having a medical emergency, please go to the nearest emergency department.
If there are matters you need addressed before tomorrow, please reach out to us today.
