Very disheartening given the problems we face regarding mental health and substance use disorder. 😔

The Trump administration sent hundreds of letters Tuesday terminating federal grants supporting mental health and drug addiction services. The cuts could total as much as $2 billion.

So impressed with our guest speaker this month, Laken Blanford! 🌟 She founded The Resilience Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting children who have experienced trauma by providing scholarships for extracurricular activities. Such an inspiring mission and an incredible presentation — great job, Laken! 👏

Our community came together on August 31st for a Overdose Awareness Butterfly Release. While it’s never easy, these gatherings remind us of the power of connection, the importance of conversation, and the need to remember and honor those we’ve lost. 💜

Aug. 31 is International Overdose Awareness Day. Each year, NelCARE hosts a butterfly release in memory of those who have lost their lives to an overdose.
