Both offices will be closed tomorrow in observance of Christmas.

This month, we also celebrate the retirement of an extraordinary physician, mentor, and friend — Dr. Smith.

Dr. Smith was the person staff instinctively turned to for advice, guidance, and reassurance. He led with wisdom, integrity, and a steady presence that made everyone around him better. Professional when the moment called for it, he also had a quick wit and an unforgettable sense of humor that kept the office smiling and spirits high.

Beyond his medical expertise, Dr. Smith has a heart of gold. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need, always putting others before himself. His leadership, mentorship, and genuine care for both patients and staff have left a lasting mark on our practice.

His guidance within these walls will be deeply missed, but the lessons he shared and the relationships he built will continue to influence us for years to come.

Today, we celebrate the retirement of a truly remarkable physician and the heart behind our practice — Dr. Hedrick.

As the founder of our practice, Dr. Hedrick built more than an office; he built a family. He has always been deeply involved, not only in the care of his patients, but in the lives of his staff. Whether joining in on activities, showing up with donuts “just because,” or offering a word of encouragement, he believed that small acts of appreciation create strong teams — and he lived that belief every day.

Dr. Hedrick is selfless, caring, honest, and unwavering in his commitment to others. He has always led with heart, humor, and humility. His dedication to the children of Nelson County and the surrounding communities has shaped countless lives, and his impact will be felt for generations to come.

A man with 99 lives, a servant’s heart, and an unmatched love for his people — Dr. Hedrick will be deeply missed, but his legacy will forever remain part of who we are.

Thank you, Dr. Hedrick, for everything. 💙
