New Jersey has a chance and a responsibility to do what’s right. The $45 million from the opioid settlement was intended to support life-saving, community programs like harm reduction services, supportive housing, legal help, and more.

Taking these funds away from the people most affected by overdose undoes years of planning and puts life-saving programs at risk.

We urge Governor Murphy and the Legislature to pass Senate Bill 4792 and Assembly Bill 6165, restore the $45 million, and set up strong safeguards so these resources cannot be taken away again.

This is more than just a budget issue; it is a moral responsibility. New Jersey should support its communities, respect the purpose of the settlement, and invest in proven solutions that prevent overdose deaths.

At Sea Change, we’re all about making a difference! In 2024, we were thrilled to provide peer services to 121 members of our community. Fast forward to 2025, and we’ve already reached 175 people—an incredible 45% increase! We’re here to offer vital support in recovery, help with transportation to treatment, care management, housing assistance, and food security.

We’re also working hard to hold systems accountable by safeguarding $45 million in opioid settlement funds. This money is all about community-driven treatment, harm reduction, and recovery support.
