Due to inclement weather, Lamar County Schools will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026. All after-school activities are also canceled.

While we understand the forecast is not definitive, this decision is being made out of an abundance of caution, particularly due to the potential for black ice on roadways, to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and families.

We will continue to monitor conditions closely and provide updates as needed.

Please stay safe.

Lamar County Primary School Exits TSI Identification
Lamar County Schools is proud to share some wonderful news: we are no longer identified on the Georgia Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI) list.

TSI identification is part of the state’s accountability system and is used to flag schools needing additional, targeted academic support for specific student groups. Exiting the TSI list reflects meaningful progress in student outcomes and school improvement work. This milestone is the result of sustained effort across our district — including the dedication of our teachers and leaders, the hard work of our students, and the support of families and community partners. We are grateful to everyone who has contributed to this improvement.

While we celebrate this achievement, Lamar County Schools remains committed to continuous growth. We will keep strengthening instruction, supporting every learner, and building on the momentum that made this progress possible.

Thank you for believing in our students and our schools. Together, we are moving Lamar County forward.
