Kathy, of Berlin, first connected with CVHHH as a patient following a double knee replacement. She has high praise for her physical therapist, who she says is an exemplary human being, very skilled, and knows his stuff: “He was spot on with knowing what I was supposed to do and with being encouraging. He has a special way about him.”

Both of Kathy’s parents received hospice care in their homes, which cemented her commitment to ensuring access to hospice in her community: “I support CVHHH so that everyone who lives in Central Vermont can receive support services, including end-of-life hospice care, at home at no cost to them.”

CVHHH has been serving Central Vermont for more than a hundred years. Whether you submit your ballot by mail or vote in person on Town Meeting Day, March 3, please on our town funding request and help ensure another century of compassionate home healthcare.

Matt, who lives in Cabot, has supported CVHHH as a hospice volunteer for more than a decade. He believes that the ability to receive care at home contributes to a higher quality of life for patients. “Home is where you feel most safe and comfortable,” he says. “I think it’s healthier for people to get care at home instead of going into a facility or housing that’s unfamiliar, places where they don’t have those little memory bubbles of life.”

Whether you complete a mail-in ballot or vote in person next Tuesday, please to approve CVHHH's town funding requests. Town funding helps us provide care and comfort — from pregnancy and birth through the end of life, and every stage in between — to your Central Vermont neighbors, family, and friends.

“Our support for CVHHH comes from seeing firsthand the meaningful impact of your work in our community,” say Sandy and Rod of Calais.

Sandy began volunteering for our hospice program three decades ago and has seen its impacts up close. “Our experience has shown us that hospice not only supports patients, but also deeply affects families, and enriches the lives of caregivers and volunteers. We believe the work you do is essential and extremely valuable for the Central Vermont community.”

Town funding provides vital support to our agency so our program staff can continue to deliver the right care at the right time in the setting our patients want: at home. on your Town Meeting Day ballot.

Morella, who lives in Waitsfield, learned of CVHHH when her husband, John, entered hospice care. She appreciates the responsiveness of John’s care team and the support they provided at the end of his life. “When I needed them, they came, and they were here at any time,” she says. “I could never be more appreciative of CVHHH.”

Your approval of CVHHH's town funding requests is community care in action.

Susan, of Northfield, supports CVHHH because she believes in hospice, which helps patients to die comfortably, often surrounded by family, treasured belongings, and pets. Susan worked for more than 20 years as an ER nurse and says she saw many people die in the hospital who might have benefited from hospice: “I want hospice care to always be available for people.”

Now retired, Susan is an active CVHHH hospice volunteer. “I get a lot out of volunteering. Every situation is different and it is an honor to become a small part of someone’s life at this important stage."
